Keyless Entry
The days of putting keys into locks are slowly disappearing and most new cars have keyless entry. You can unlock your car by pressing the button on the fob, or by pulling the door handle. This allows you to remain hands free and not have to search through your bag searching for your keys.
The system works because the car sends out a radio signal that is subsequently picked up and sent back by the key fob. This is then recognized by the vehicle and it will normally unlock the doors or turn on the interior lighting (if it is programmed to do this).
Certain variations of keyless entry don't require a fob at all, instead using an app on a smartphone that can transmit an electronic signal directly to the car. This is also referred to as a phone-as key, or a digital-key. It's a great way to let other drivers access your vehicle without having to hand over the keys.
It's important to note that keyless entry systems aren't completely foolproof and there have been reports of people who had their cars taken away using this technology. To avoid this you can purchase an anti-theft device for the key fob called Secure-A-Key. This will turn off the battery of the remote control if it's not moved for a period of minutes, making it much harder to steal the car.
Start and Exit System
Skoda comes with a range of features designed to make life easier, whether you're returning home with a wet football jacket or a wet backpack. The Karoq has a clever, double-sided bootmat that is constructed of plastic and fabric. It shields your floor from getting dirty or wet.
Modern keyless entry systems, also referred to as KESSY control units, include an additional layer of security built-in to protect your car. The system checks to see if the correct key is being used to turn on the engine and, if it is not, the immobilizer will be activated. This blocks different actions that prevent the vehicle from starting, including removing the fuel pump, ignition coil, or injectors.
If the immobilizer is activated you'll see a warning light on the dashboard. This should be treated as an emergency and you'll have to see an expert to determine the cause of the issue.
Modern keyless entry systems are defended by a variety of sensors, one of which is door handle detectors. This sensor is located in the front door, and it is waiting for an event to trigger it. For instance, the key inserted or a button that is placed on the tailgate. If the trigger is detected, a signal is sent to the car's control unit and it opens the doors and starts the engine. The Kodiaq Superb Octavia Enyaq and Enyaq all come with the same Area View system that uses cameras to show different views of the immediate surroundings around your car on the screen in your car.
Remote Control Window Winding

If the window winding of your skoda key isn't working correctly the issue could be caused by an inefficient motor or switch. In the case of the switch, you can use an instrument to test for continuity in the ground and power wires that connect to the window motor. It is best to get the power and ground wires connected when you press the switch. If it doesn't, the switch is likely bad.
If you are unable to resolve the issue, it's recommended to seek help from an auto electrician. They will be able repair the window winding on your Skoda Octavia, and ensure that all is working properly. You may also contact an auto dealer in your area regarding the issue.
Electric windows function the same as manual windows, but they have a motor that turns them up and down instead of the handle. The motor is connected through two circuits to the window switches: one position of the switch and the circuit drive it one way (window up) and the other switch position and the circuit drive it the opposite direction (window down). The switches' contacts are connected to the power supply which is then connected to a motor in order to perform the actual winding. A large plate has gear teeth carved into it and the motor spins a gear that engages these teeth when the window is raised. When the window is lowered, the gear is disengaged and the handle can move freely.
Multi-function Steering Wheel
Many functions have been moved to the steering wheel, away from the console and dashboard so that you can keep both your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. The steering wheel comes with cruise control, radio controls and other functions. This innovative solution improves the safety of the vehicle for both the driver and the passengers.
The new two-spoke wheel was first introduced in the fourth generation of OCTAVIA and is currently available on nearly all SKODA vehicles. It is ergonomic, fresh-looking and has a variety of variations including a three-spoke version.
Marwan Khiat the designer, says: "We wanted to keep it as clean as we could to make the logo stand out and to avoid clutter." The steering wheel is equipped with 14 buttons that control the vehicle's functions. Each one is clearly labeled. They can be operated by just a single click, making it simple to use without taking your hands off the steering wheel.
The steering wheel can also be fitted with controls for air conditioning and heating functions for winter. In addition, it is compatible with the CAN bus system to enable integration of multimedia functions, such as radio, Bluetooth and a USB connection.
Ambient Lighting

This is only one of the many functions provided by eCall which you can enable or renew through the MySkoda app.
Umbrella Storage
Have you ever been caught by the weather without an umbrella? That's unlikely to happen again if you have a Skoda Superb Combi. There's a compartment inside every front door (except for the driver's side) that is perfect for storing an umbrella. You can keep your umbrella dry when you exit at an intersection.
It's a small thing, but it does make an impact. When you open the door and walk in, the umbrella will be there waiting for you. If you're driving the umbrella will remain out of the way and not get into your way. This is just one of the many clever features that demonstrate how many hours of thought went into Skoda.
You can keep your drinks close with a drink holder that is on each of the doors. You can even fill up your washer's fluid with the help of a funnel.
